Skinquarter Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Dr. Stephen Felker

Interim Pastor


Pastor Felker was appointed to serve as Interim Pastor while the Pastor Search Committee seeks an ongoing full-time Pastor. This is his second Interim Pastorate. Previously, he served as Senior Pastor of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA for 34 years. The church more than doubled in attendance and membership during his ministry there.

The attributes that best describe Pastor Steve as a pastor are strong expository preaching, caring pastoral visitation, while seeking to effectively lead is church revitalization. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Skinquarter Baptist Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. Pastor Steve takes worship and preaching very seriously. He and his wife Cheryl enjoy participating in the music ministry of the church.

He graduated with honors from the Criswell College (B.A.) and Graduate School (M.A.) in Dallas, TX , and later graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry degree in Expository Preaching.

Pastor Felker has been happily married for 47 years to his wife Cheryl.
